Privacy Policy

Overview

SiftDo ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal finance application built by SiftDo LLC. We believe your financial data is deeply personal. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Data That Stays on Your Device

Your financial transactions, categories, tags, and rules are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. We cannot read, sell, or share your transaction data because we never receive it.

Multi-device sync via Apple iCloud (CloudKit) is available for Pro/Family subscribers but is disabled by default. It only activates when you explicitly enable it in Settings > Privacy & Security. When enabled, your data is encrypted and managed by Apple under their privacy policy. We do not operate the sync servers.

Data We Collect

Account information: When you purchase a subscription, RevenueCat (our payment processor) creates an anonymous user ID. We do not collect your name, email, or personal details unless you contact support.
Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe via RevenueCat. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data under their PCI-compliant infrastructure.
Diagnostics: The desktop and mobile apps do not automatically send any data. All information stays on your device. If you need support, you may choose to export and send diagnostic logs yourself. The web demo at siftodo.com/demo does collect anonymous crash and diagnostic data to help us fix bugs — no financial data is included.

Bank Connect (Plaid)

If you opt into Bank Connect, your bank credentials are handled entirely by Plaid Inc. We never see your bank login. Plaid retrieves your transactions and passes them to the app on your device. See Plaid's privacy policy for details.

Third-Party Services

Data Sharing

SiftDo does not operate any servers. Your financial data never leaves your device (or Apple iCloud if you enable sync). We have no access to your transactions and therefore nothing to share.

Subscriptions & payments: When you purchase a subscription inside the app, payment is processed by Stripe via RevenueCat as described in Data We Collect above. These providers receive only the payment information necessary to complete the transaction — no financial data from the app is involved.

Bank Connect: If you opt into Bank Connect, Plaid retrieves your bank transactions and delivers them directly to the app on your device. See the Bank Connect section above for details.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Data Retention

Your financial data lives on your device (and iCloud if sync is enabled). If you delete the app, your local data is deleted. iCloud data can be managed through your Apple ID settings.

Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat/Stripe for accounting and legal purposes.

Children's Privacy

SiftDo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
