What's New

Every time you import transactions, recategorize spending, or connect a bank account, SiftDo earns you tokens. Think of them as a thank-you for being an active user — not a gamification gimmick, but a way to give something back while the app is still in beta.

What you can unlock

• 500 tokens → TestFlight QR code to share SiftDo with friends and family on iPhone before the public launch
• 1,000 tokens → 90 days of Bank Connect for free — automatic transaction sync without lifting a finger

You'll find the Rewards tab in Settings → Rewards. The progress bar updates in real time, and unlocking is one tap. No promo codes, no customer support tickets.

This is just the beginning. We're planning more rewards as SiftDo grows — the people who helped us get here during beta will always have an edge.

We're privacy-first by design, which meant we weren't going to add "connect your bank" until we could do it in a way that didn't compromise that promise. Bank Connect is powered by Plaid — you authenticate directly with your bank in a secure Plaid-hosted window, and the resulting access token never passes through SiftDo's servers.

How it works

• Go to Settings → Bank Connect and tap Add Account
• Search for your bank in the Plaid window and log in using your bank credentials
• SiftDo receives a read-only token — no ability to move money, no stored passwords
• New transactions sync automatically; all categorization still happens on-device

Bank Connect is available on Pro and Family plans. Free-tier users can unlock 90 days at no cost by earning 1,000 Sift Tokens.

We'll be adding more Bank Connect features over the coming months: balance tracking, net worth view, and alerts when unusual spending is detected.

The most common complaint we heard during early testing: "I tried to import my bank statement and got a blank screen." We took that personally.

Building a CSV parser sounds simple until you see the real-world variety. Chase uses one format for checking and another for credit. Some banks put debits in a separate column. Others export with a BOM character that breaks most parsers. Fidelity uses a completely custom layout. Each one needed individual attention.

Personal finance data is some of the most sensitive information you have. Your transactions reveal where you shop, what you eat, where you travel, who you pay — details that paint a more accurate picture of your life than almost anything else. Handing that to a startup whose business model you don't fully understand seemed wrong.

The SiftDo approach

With SiftDo, your transaction data never leaves your device. There are no SiftDo servers that store your financial records. Import from your bank's CSV export, and everything — categorization, charts, search, sync — happens locally.

• On-device AI categorization — Sieve, our 6-stage classification engine, runs entirely on your Mac or iPhone. It categorizes transactions with 99%+ accuracy without sending a single transaction over the network.
• iCloud sync — if you use multiple devices, your data syncs end-to-end encrypted through your personal iCloud. We never see it.
• No account required — open the app and start importing. There's no sign-up, no email address, no onboarding survey.

What we're building toward

SiftDo launches for Mac, Windows, and iPhone on May 18, 2026. We're in active beta now — iterating fast on bank compatibility, UI polish, and the features that matter most for real budgeters.
